2012 SEASON
MACBETH
Violent in action and memorably written, difficult to perform and yet extraordinarily popular on stage, granted by actors and audiences its own special “curse.”
The Shakespeare Initiative is thrilled to present MACBETH, their first production in collaboration with the Roxbury Arts Alliance. Performances will be on October 5, 6, 12, 13 at 8:00 PM and October 7 and 14 at 2:00 PM. at the RoxPAC/Investors Bank Theater, 72 Eyland Avenue, Roxbury.
Macbeth, the titular Lord, is led by the prophecies of three witches to conspire with his wife on an ambitious plot to rule – at any cost. But when their delusions of power result in bloodshed, Macbeth is sent into a downward spiral of madness. Tormented by visions and guilt while the price of his crimes takes its toll, what fate awaits Macbeth?
MACBETH is a story of the supernatural – with prophecies, dreams, nightmares, ghosts, madness, ambition and blood. It is one of Shakespeare’s most visceral, haunting and intense plays. Audiences should expect the thrills and surprises for which TSI has become known in a production sure to whet the appetite for Halloween.
