Irish Tenor Timothy Liam Smith performs at the RoxPAC Mar 15th & 16th
The Roxbury Arts Alliance is proud to present the acclaimed Irish tenor Timothy Liam Smith for two evenings of Irish music and culture on Friday March 15th and Saturday March 16th at the Investors Bank Theater at the Roxbury Performing Arts Center ( RoxPAC) in Succasunna. He will be accompanied by pianist and conductor David P. Maiullo along with Roxbury resident Phil Lamoureux on guitar. The show is called “Love & Longing” and will begin at 7:30 pm each night. Tickets are $20.00 and $15.00 for seniors and kids under 12 years old.
Tim has been a stage performer since the age of 5. At 22 he began singing Irish music professionally, and is now one of America’s top performers in the Irish Tenor genre and Irish culture.
“Love and Longing” examines two themes common to Irish culture: ties to our loved ones and longing for the homeland of the emigrant’s birth. Tim exposes the Irish view through a tapestry of song, story, poetry and quintessentially Irish humor. This program contains many favorites but some less familiar yet hauntingly beautiful pieces as well. First produced at the Celtic Theatre Company, the program has been performed in many Northeast venues.
Students from the Endean Academy of Irish Dance will open the evening with a program of traditional Irish dance. Their instructor Ms. Emily Endean is a former member of the world acclaimed Riverdance show. Emily is a Certified T.C.R.G. by An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha (The Irish Dance Commission). She is also a member of the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America (IDTANA).
The Investors Bank Theater is located at 72 Eyland Avenue Succasunna NJ at the Horseshoe Lake Park complex inside the Recreation Building. Tickets are available at the Recreation office and on-line at www.roxburyartsalliance.org. Tickets will be sold at the door before the performance subject to seating availability.
