    Starts: March 9, 2013

Place: 1 Bryant Drive, Succasunna NJ

DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THIS PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH 9TH.

The Roxbury Arts Alliance will again present a performance by the jazz vocal group New York Voices March 9th at the Roxbury High School auditorium, 1 Bryant Drive, Succasunna NJ.

This is a benefit concert in support of the Roxbury High School choir program.

New York Voices is a Grammy-winning vocal ensemble renowned for its excellence in jazz and the art of group singing. Like the great groups that have come before, such as Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, Singers Unlimited, and Manhattan Transfer, group members Peter Eldridge, Darmon Meader, Lauren Kinhan, and Kim Nazarian have learned from the best and taken the art form to new levels. Their interests are rooted in jazz, but often Brazilian, R&B, classical and pop influences are infused with creativity and authenticity.

In addition to their own CDs, New York Voices has made many guest appearances on recordings and live performances that have earned the group critical acclaim and demand in a variety of musical settings. You can find the group’s performances on such CDs as the Grammy-winning “Count Basie Orchestra with New York Voices,” and the Latin Grammy-winning “Brazilian Dreams” with saxophonist Paquito D’Rivera. The group has performed with a number of influential jazz artists including Ray Brown, Bobby McFerrin, Nancy Wilson, George Benson, the Boston Pops and many more.

Along with their extensive concert performances and recording dates, the New York Voices also work in the field of education, giving workshops and clinics to high school and college music students.
