Roxbury, NJ, June 23, 2016 – The annual Roxbury Arts Alliance Beach Blast is not only a huge celebration for the entire community, but also plays a pivotal role in the funding of scholarships for local high school students.
This past Thursday, over one thousand people from Morris County attended the annual Roxbury Beach Blast. The proceeds of the event raised money for the Roxbury Arts Alliance Annual Scholarship which is awarded to a graduating senior in the arts. Attendees were able to enjoy face painting by Roxbury High School’s Interact Club, live music, local vendors, and the town’s biggest firework show.
President of the Arts Alliance, Genevieve Schmidt explained: “The beach blast is a way for our community to celebrate the end of school and the beginning of summer.” These celebrations have raised over $25,000 total, including $5,000 just this year. Just like the fireworks, the event went out with a bang.
