The Roxbury Instrumental Band Program, together with Music For All (MFA), is proud to present the 2nd annual Metropolitan Wind Band Invitational (MWBI). This all-day music festival will be filled with non-stop performances by several of the region’s most accomplished high school wind ensembles and orchestras. These groups were invited to participate in this prestigious event based on their past achievements and continued commitment to musical and performance excellence.

The MWBI will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Roxbury High School, 1 Bryant Drive, Succasunna, NJ 07876. The first performance will commence at 10 am with the last ensemble to take the stage at 7 pm. Admission to the Festival is $10 Adult, $5 Seniors/Students and a special family rate of $25 for a family of 4 or more (2 adults and 2 + children). Concessions available for purchase on-site. Free Parking.

The public is welcome to come and enjoy concerts by 17 ensembles, including all three Roxbury High School bands. Not only will attendees be treated to rousing symphonic and orchestral performances, but the festival also functions as a non-competitive performance and learning experience for the participating ensemble members. Each performance will be critiqued by a panel of extremely experienced and distinguished music professionals who are highly regarded throughout the music/music education realm.

The 2015 Metropolitan Wind Band Invitational, an MFA Affiliate Regional Concert Band Festival, is only 1 out of 5 such festivals in the entire nation. The affiliate concert band festival program, which supplements MFAs annual National Festival in Indianapolis, is part of their ongoing support of the essential “core” of every band program – the concert band!

“Music for All is an admirer of the fine band program at Roxbury High School and has enjoyed working with Director of Bands Todd Nichols,” says Eric Martin, President and CEO of Music for All. “We are thrilled and honored to partner with Roxbury to provide a positive educational opportunity for the bands in this area.”
