Skylands Songwriters Guild presents Riverside Rhythm and Rhyme, featuring Brad Cole and Robinson Treacher, on Sunday, September 16, 2018, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Investors Bank Theatre, 72 Eyland Ave., Succasunna.

General admission is $20; members $15; under 18 free. For advance tickets visit skylandssongwriters.org/rr-r.

Riverside Rhythm and Rhyme is an eclectic coffee house/listening room venue showcasing local and regional independent artists. Skylands Songwriters Guild, based in Ledgewood, is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating the singer-songwriter community of northwestern New Jersey and the surrounding region.

The songs of Brad Cole address the ups and downs of the human condition with both wit and raw insight. His passionate and distinctive delivery of roots-based folk music, woven with the grit and groove of old-school bossa and rhythm and blues moves a listener’s soul in a direction that is unexpected, yet perfectly familiar. He released his fourth full-length record, “Lay It Down,” in 2016.

Robinson Treacher feeds off the honest grit found among the “huddled masses”… coupling the blatantly obvious (to a New Yorker at least) with the deeply personal. Believing that each song is forged from its own unique terrain, he takes great pains in choosing the vehicle by which passengers might best weather the bumps, potholes, and blind curves found between the first note and the last.

Robinson has been featured on Sirius/XM’s “The Loft: Live from The Living Room” series, has been a guest with John Platt on New York’s WFUV Radio and has recently been awarded Best Artist at Virginia’s largest Lyrics On The Lake Music Festival.

Alex Radus opens the show.
