Open Rehearsal, Sunday, June 3, 2018
On Sunday June 3, 2018, there will be an OPEN REHEARSAL and information session for area musicians of all ages and ability for the purpose of creating a volunteer community Jazz Ensemble.
Local resident Bob Williams is one of the organizers and is very optimistic about the possibilities. “Roxbury is very fortunate to have an amazing Performing Arts Department in our public schools. Over the years the various student ensembles have achieved greatness with awards and professional level performances. However once a student graduates high school and unless they are pursuing a career in music, there are not many local opportunities to continue playing their instrument with an ensemble. Until now. This community music ensemble will hopefully create a nice outlet for the many talented area musicians- both student and adult. The goal is to start small and potentially perform a concert this summer at the Horseshoe Lake Bandshell.”
All area musicians especially woodwind, brass, percussion, piano, bass and guitar players are encouraged to attend. Vocalists are also welcome.
The rehearsal will be held at the Investors Bank Theater at the Horseshoe Lake Complex – 72 Eyland Avenue Succasunna. Doors will open at 3:30pm, rehearsal starts at 4:00pm on Sunday June 3, 2018.
